Cosmic Indie Pop · two lead voices · debut EP autumn 2026
“We are the future, and you are not,” sings a children’s choir in a BYE BYE MAXWELL song — reassurance is not what this band does. The trio from Bern — Sandy Stadler (vocals, synths, keys), Bänz Isler (vocals, guitar) and Flo Hufschmid (drums) — makes cosmic indie pop: two lead voices passing songs back and forth, lyrics about astrophysics, the future, being lost and the general impermanence of things.
Stadler and Isler studied film composition at Zurich University of the Arts and run the scoring studio SONDER Film Music in Bern — Best Soundtrack at the Munich Film Awards, Best Score at the Paris Art & Movie Awards — and BYE BYE MAXWELL is where the pictures come off. Flo, a jazz-trained drummer (master’s degree, Bern Academy of the Arts), treats the kit as a modular instrument, assembled from whatever the song needs.
Debut single
Nativ rapping in Bernese dialect, Sandy answering in English — the theme song of The Belonging (Sky Show / blue Play), the four-part Swiss documentary series about national-team footballers Akanji, Embolo and Rakitić and the question of where you belong. Two of the band’s three members made the series itself: Bänz co-created and co-directed it, Sandy composed its score. The series climbed to #2 on Sky Show; in July 2026 the song was released on the official series soundtrack.
Debut EP — autumn 2026
The first chapter of the debut — songs about transience, identity and what remains, produced by Marty Hailey at Metro 13 Music Studio, Edinburgh: vintage instruments, modern production, and on the song about sleep paralysis a singing saw. A second EP will follow, then the album — digital and on vinyl.
